Not too long ago we were still riding around in carriages and riding bicycles with a wheel symmetry problem, how did we get to the point where we need to have a car? The answer is: We are the Lazy Generation. We've got fast cars, fast food, fast dry cleaning, fast delivery services, where they give it to you free if you don't get it yesterday. What the hell people? I don't want to sounds like the old man saying "back in my day..." but the sad thing is, they had it right! People are lazy, they don't appreciate things, and they expect it to be given to them. They feel that they deserve it. Don't get me wrong, having things now is convenient, but when it gets the point that we bitch and moan because we don't get it now, it's becoming a problem.
Cars are nice to have though. The ability to get in the car, and drive across town in 15-20 minutes is awesome. Being able to go through a drive-thru at Taco Bell is great, especially when you have someplace to be, but they are necessities. They aren't like air, water, or food. we take those things for granted like they will always be there, and then bitch when the pizza guy gets stuck in traffic and we have to wait an extra 5 minutes.
I dunno, just some thoughts...
